There was controversy after the boys’s dash bronze medal ride-off on the Paris Olympics, when the winner, Crew GB’s Jack Carlin, was accused of popping out of his sprinter’s lane and impeding his opponent. 

The Brit, using on a warning for “irregular motion” in his quarterfinal warmth with Japan’s Kaiya Ota, beat Dutchman Jeffrey Hoogland to the ultimate podium place, in a better of three that lasted 4 races.
